Inspired by the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling event, Riversway hosted its own celebration recently.
Each year the Spring bank holiday sees wheels of cheese rolled down a steep hill at the village of Cooper’s Hill near Gloucester.
So Riversway residents and staff gathered to roll their own, complete with names given to them for the occasion.
The winner of our event was named Milly the Moo, owned by Monica, who won a big bar of chocolate. Afterwards we toasted with different cheeses and drinks including berry cider and grapes, and took part in a singalong.
People who didn’t make it to the rolling competition, still received a tasty cracker given by Rita complete with cheese topping.
Everyone had a great time taking part.
