Recognising that a well trained highly motivated workforce is the key to delivering top quality care, Riversway continuously invests in its staff, both as individuals and as a team. This continues to be recognised through the achievement of the prestigious national ‘Investors In People’ award.
Consistently recognised by residents, relatives, health and social care professionals alike, Riversway’s staff consistently go that extra mile for its residents.
Regularly inspected and regulated by CSCI, whose reports are also available for inspection at the home, Riversway consistently exceeds national standards with regards to its staff and training.
For example, Riversway has an enviable record for avoiding the use of any agency staff. As a result, members of staff can build personal relationships with residents and take time to sit and listen.
Riversway has 13 fully registered nursing staff (RGNs) under the direction of its Matron, Angela Glover RGN, who became the first Matron in Bristol to obtain her Registered Manager Award (RMA) and has 35 years nursing experience, the last ten of which have been enjoyed at Riversway. The nursing staff are supported by our care assistants, catering team and other support services.
The Catering team is headed up by the Catering Manager and Chef who design and serve delicious and nutritious meals using only the best, fresh ingredients, delivered daily to Riversway’s doors by carefully selected local suppliers. Residents are encouraged to tell us about their favourite foods, and invite their friends and family to attend for special meals and parties.
With activities being a part of life at Riversway rather than some add-on, a full and varied range of regular and interesting activities are available for those residents who choose to attend. Activities include regular outings in Riversway’s own minibus.
Riversway's laundry - which recently attracted BBC news coverage for its state-of-the-art technology - is another core service, run by a dedicated staff team.
Riversway also boasts two in-house maintenance personnel, who ensure that all repairs and redecorating are attended to in a courteous, timely and efficient manner, together with a dedicated team of cleaners who ensure your room is spick and span.
